Case Study: Contemporary Comfort

Summary of project:

These homeowners had very specific vision when it came to designing their new cottage. They wanted to incorporate elements of a mountainside retreat with a modern farmhouse style. Together the homeowners and Normerica created a custom timber frame design that seamlessly blended all of the items on the project wishlist, all while working within an allowable building footprint that was smaller than what the homeowner ideally wanted in the beginning.

The results? A breathtaking four bedroom, five bathroom cottage design that features a large open concept living/dining area with a vaulted ceiling and double-hinged doors that open completely to remove any barrier between the indoors and the large deck outside. Other unique features include a full bar on the lower walkout basement level, a 3 season Muskoka room and a separate 3 car garage which includes a second floor loft-style living space.
